IG80 Automotive Ignition Coil Tester DC 12-24V

IG80 Automotive Ignition Coil Tester's Operation Steps:
1. the measured ignition coil and tester connected according to the instructions
2. the instrument is plugged into the external power supply, ignition coil is 12V on the
12V power supply ignition coil is 24V on the 24V power supply.
3. press the button ignition coil began to work, if you want to test the ignition coil in a
variety of speed under the working situation, adjust the speed button.
Coil Type Ignition Coil Test Procedure:
(1) Positive + of the ignition coil and IG80 coil type socket positive + connection
(2) Three-wire ignition coil ground - and IG80 module type socket ground - connection (two-wire no ground).
(3) IGC signal wire from ignition coil and IGC from IG80 coil type socket connected to.
(4) Plug the IG80 into the external power supply, the power indicator light will turn on, and put the high voltage end of the ignition coil (plugged into the spark plug port) close to the high voltage discharge pin, at a distance of about 10MM; (5) Press the IGC button, and then press the IGC button, and then press the IGC button.
(5) Press the IGC button, the ignition coil will start jumping fire, rotate the speed knob to change the frequency of jumping fire, by observing the strength of the spark, jumping fire distance, to judge the ignition coil is good or bad, the general 12V ignition coil, in the air, jumping fire gap up to 10-12mm, 24V ignition coil, jumping fire gap up to 15mm.
Module Type Ignition Coil Test Steps:
(1) Connect the positive + of the ignition coil with the positive + of the IG80's modular socket.
(2) Connect the ground wire of the ignition coil with the ground wire of the IG80 modular socket.
(3) Connect the IG signal wire of the ignition coil to the IG of the IG80 modular socket.
(4) When the IG80 is plugged into an external power supply and the power indicator light is on, place the high voltage end of the ignition coil (plugged into the spark plug port) close to the high voltage discharge pin, at a distance of about 10mm.
(5) Press the IG button, the ignition coil will start jumping fire, rotate the speed knob to change the frequency of jumping fire, by observing the strength of the spark, jumping fire distance, to judge the ignition coil is good or bad in general 12V ignition coil, in the air, the jumping fire gap up to 10-12mm24v ignition coil, the jumping fire gap up to 15mm.
If it doesn't jump, look at the signal amplitude switch, most of the modular ignition coils choose 5V signal amplitude, a few ignition coils such as Mercedes-Benz, etc., need 12V signal amplitude, IG80 internal output protection circuit, even if the signal amplitude selection is wrong, it won't damage the ignition coil.
